Samsung displays its latest medical equipment and innovative healthcare solutions with academic seminars on diagnosis for OB/GYN at the biggest medical exhibition in the Middle East
Dubai, UAE ? January 27, 2014 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Medison today announced that they are inviting customers to ‘Experience a New Healthcare Solution’ with its latest medical devices at the largest annual medical trade fair in the Middle East, Arab Health, being held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre in United Arab Emirates from January 27 to 30.
At booth #S1H10 (Seikh SAEED Hall 1), visitors will experience Samsung’s latest ultrasound systems, digital X-ray, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) and mobile CT scanners that will deliver easy, fast and accurate diagnosis in various medical fields in the Middle East.
Samsung Medison’s first premium ultrasound system, the UGEO WS80A, targets large hospitals in the region and showcases innovations in women’s health exams with enhanced display technologies and communication functions such as the 5D NT™ and the Hello Mom*. Featuring a 21.5? wide LED monitor with a 10.1? touchscreen for controls, and various software optimizations, the UGEO WS80A helps resolve relevant anatomy and sends data to a 3D TV for a more realistic image. Visitors can learn clinical benefits of the UGEO WS80A for OB/GYN diagnosis, including Samsung’s various ultrasound technologies at the Training Village in the Arab Health Exhibition Centre on the 28th (Details on the ‘Sono School Symposium’ below). Samsung’s ultrasound system product line-up has been expanded into various medical fields with the new handheld device, the UGEO HM70A for general imaging and its first tablet, the UGEO PT60A for POC (point-of-care) market, both on display at the Samsung booth.
Samsung Electronics will showcase a mobile healthcare solution that provides Homecare & Mobile Lab Services, Emergency Services, and Hospital Services through Samsung’s convergence technology with in-vitro diagnostics. The IVD mobile solution brings blood sample tests and transitional care to remote, immobile and chronic disease patients by expanding the coverage of IVD products into houses, ambulances and hospitals. Healthcare providers can enjoy faster diagnosis and treatment with lower costs and higher efficiency, by connecting these devices wirelessly to Samsung’s cloud service, smartphones and data management systems such as LABGEO mobile**, Samsung m-EMR*** and RMS (Remote Management Service). The Dubai Health Authority plans to run the service in 15 medical centers within the city by the end of September, after conducting a pilot in the beginning of this year.
For Digital Radiography systems, Samsung Electronics will demonstrate its ceiling mounted system, the XGEO GC80, a premium digital X-ray device, supporting all general radiography exams in medical institutes and trauma centers. Samsung is also unveiling its new floor-mounted system, the XGEO GF50, featuring high usability at medical clinics specializing in orthopedic surgery, internal medicine and neurosurgery. Users can now experience even clearer and sharper imaging on these systems through Samsung’s new wireless detector. Samsung’s technology enables X-ray signals to pass directly from the scintillator to the TFT (thin-film transistors) without interruption, which reduces the level of radiation needed to ensure high image quality. Samsung provides the detector itself through a retrofit solution, the XGEO GR40CW, which allows hospitals to easily convert their analog X-ray and Computed Radiography devices into Digital Radiography systems with easier installation without any additional connection.
“Samsung is excited to be a part of this year’s Arab Health and display our latest medical devices and solutions that will bring innovation to the diagnostic environment in the Middle East market,” said Soo-in Cho, President and Head of the Health & Medical Equipment Business at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung will continue to bring the best healthcare solutions that are efficient to both patients and doctors according to the regional needs across various medical fields.”
